FRP Canopy

An FRP/GRP canopy is a weatherproof, corrosion-resistant enclosure manufactured from fiberglass-reinforced plastic to protect motors, pumps, panels, blowers, and other outdoor equipment from rain, sunlight, dust, and chemical fumes. Unlike MS canopies, FRP/GRP canopies do not rust, peel, or degrade in coastal, chemical, or humid environments, eliminating frequent repainting and corrosion repairs. Compared to basic plastic sheds, FRP/GRP provides far higher mechanical strength, UV resistance, and impact resistance, making it suitable for heavy industrial duty. Its non-conductive nature also enhances safety around electrical equipment. For Gujarat’s coastal and chemical clusters, FRP/GRP canopies deliver reliable, long-term equipment protection where metal structures fail prematurely.

FRP/GRP canopies are ideal for outdoor motors, pumps, blower units, dosing skids, MCC or local control panels, and instrumentation enclosures in chemical, ETP/STP, power, and water-treatment plants. FRP/GRP canopies are manufactured using hand lay-up or moulded processes with high-quality resins and glass reinforcements to achieve excellent stiffness and impact resistance. Thickness and structural stiffeners are selected based on canopy size, wind load, and site conditions. Options include hinged or removable doors, ventilation louvers, viewing windows, cable entry glands, and internal mounting frames tailored to the protected equipment. UV-stabilised gelcoat or topcoat finishes ensure long-term colour and surface durability, while custom sizes, colours, and mounting arrangements allow seamless integration with site layouts and maintenance requirements.

FRP/GRP canopies shield motors and panels from rainwater, dust, sunlight, and chemical droplets, preventing moisture ingress, corrosion of terminals, and insulation breakdown. This protection increases mean time between failures (MTBF) and reduces the need for frequent rewinding, bearing replacement, and electrical repairs. The non-conductive enclosure lowers the risk of accidental electrical contact, improving operator and maintenance safety. Well-designed ventilation openings maintain adequate airflow to prevent overheating, ensuring both protection and proper cooling for continuous operation.

FRP/GRP canopies provide long service life due to their resistance to corrosion, UV exposure, and chemical attack, even in harsh industrial atmospheres.
